Kervan Sofrasi Southgate

If you're ever wandering through North London and your taste buds start craving something rich, authentic, and unmistakably Turkish, Kervan Sofrasi Southgate is the place to be. Located at 107 Chase Side, London N14 5HD, this charming spot brings the vibrant flavors of Turkey right into the heart of Southgate. Whether you're a local foodie or just visiting, this restaurant blends warm hospitality with a menu that seriously delivers.

What sets Kervan Sofrasi Southgate apart isn’t just the food - it’s the experience. From the moment you walk in, there’s an inviting ambiance, suitable for everything from a casual lunch to a full-on Turkish feast with friends or family. The vibe is inclusive and comfortable, with wheelchair-accessible facilities, outdoor seating, and flexible dining options like no-contact delivery, takeaway, and of course, dine-in service. It’s a versatile space that works whether you're grabbing a quick bite or planning a longer stay.

Now let’s talk food - the main event. Some of the popular dishes have earned something close to cult status among regulars. The Kervan Chicken is a go-to: perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled to perfection. And if you're there with a group, don’t sleep on the Kervan Special, a generous platter that lets you try a variety of meats - perfect for those who can’t settle on just one dish.

Of course, no Turkish meal is complete without some mezze starters. Think silky smooth hummus, fresh Tzatziki, and a Complimentary Bread Salad and Dips that’ll have you clearing the plate before you even realize it. Another fan favorite? The Pastirmali Pide, a Turkish-style flatbread with cured beef that’s rich and addictive. Pair it with a glass from their great wine list, or explore their beer and cocktail selection - the Strawberry Mojito is surprisingly popular.

When it comes to hearty mains, dishes like the Lamb Shish Kebab, Lamb Ribs with Chips, or the classic Lamb Doner Kebab and Chips never disappoint. They’re filling, full of flavor, and plated beautifully. There’s also a Turkish take on pizza, perfect if you’re looking for something a bit more familiar with a Mediterranean twist.

But maybe you’re just here for a Turkish breakfast or a chill coffee break - they’ve got you covered. The Turkish Breakfast Platter is a delightful way to start your day, filled with olives, cheeses, eggs, and fresh bread. And don’t leave without trying their Turkish Tea or strong, aromatic coffee. Dessert lovers, brace yourselves: the Kunefe (warm cheese pastry soaked in syrup) and Baklava are pure indulgence. They also serve a range of vegetarian options and healthy plates, making it inclusive for all diets.

Beyond the food, what really makes this place shine is the atmosphere and service. It’s the kind of restaurant where the staff remember your name if you’re a regular. It's also a solid option for solo dining, with a casual layout that doesn’t make you feel out of place if you drop in alone. The vibe is relaxed but efficient, and you can sense that the team really cares about the experience.

Whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or planning an evening of grilled meats, wine, and laughter with friends, Kervan Sofrasi Southgate ticks all the boxes. It's not just a meal - it's a taste of Turkey, served with heart.

We went in impromptu on a busy Saturday evening at about 5.20pm for a family dinner to celebrate a 15th birthday. We were seated almost immediately. Service in general is super efficient and we thank Tizzy very much for his wonderful manner and for executing the service part of his role quickly and professionally. We got a jug of apple juice and the mixed platter to share for a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children, including a teenager. It was more than enough and absolutely delicious - meat, salad, bread, rice, chips, bulger - a variety with something for everyone :) Finished off with tea and a peppermint&lemon hot water which was a super way to digest the food. We will be back, hopefully with Tizzy to wait on us again!! :)

Had an absolutely delightful experience at Kervan in Southgate. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch – friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. There were plenty of staff constantly checking in to see if we needed anything, which made the evening all the more enjoyable. The food was superb – every dish was full of flavour. The starters were excellent, and the meat and vegetables were incredibly fresh and well-prepared. You could really taste the quality in every bite. We also tried the Sex on the Beach cocktail, which was nice, though it could do with a slightly stronger orange flavour – but that’s just a personal preference. The garden area is a real gem, perfect for a relaxed evening. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, especially during warmer weather. Parking isn’t a big issue – there’s space for two cars directly outside the restaurant, and Asda next door offers three hours of free parking, so it’s very convenient. All in all, Kervan is a fantastic spot with brilliant food, warm hospitality, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended – a true pleasure to dine here.

Beautiful restaurant, lovely ambience, friendly team but slow service. The food is excellent. We ordered a big family platter with a salty yoghurt drink in jug. Parking is available opp Asda for 3 hours with 2 minutes walk.

The Turkish breakfast was really nice, with plenty of food and fresh bread. We couldn’t even finish the breakfast for two. Everything was tasty and fresh, although some dishes, like the grilled vegetables, were served cold—we would have preferred them hot. The omelette wasn’t as firm as we like, but overall, I recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and even offer free tea and extra bread if you want. Definitely worth trying!

The food was okay with generous portions and they serve free salad and bread. Service was just at an average level, could be improved. There was one staff who had a very long ponytail dangerously touching the food when she served. Space is so cramped you need to squeeze in to get to your seat. Also, the seats need to be refurbished as they were looking so grubby.
